girls, girls, girls, i do adore…

been asked this question quite often:

which female style icons/celebrities do you draw inspiration from?

at present, i don’t really have an “idol” or “icon” per se that i look up to… apart from occasionally noticing what certain individuals are doing/wearing, namely: Kate Moss (fashion), Anna Dello Russo (fashion) and Victoria Beckham (i admire what she’s accomplished for herself with her family life and burgeoning fashion empire).

growing up tho’, there were quite a few women in film & music who shaped the way i view beauty & fashion and in some way or other, contributed to the person that i am today and whatever sense of “style” i may (/may not) have…

one person in particular played a very pivotal role in influencing my “fashion choices”, even til’ now: NAMIE AMURO. can i just say… i was thoroughly OBSESSED.  i had her songs on heavy rotation, would watch her concert dvds every chance i could, dyed my hair an ashy brown (that looked good with her tan but didn’t flatter my fair skin), started wearing short skirts and mid-calf boots (even in singapore’s hot n’ humid weather) and over-tweezed my eyebrows coz’ i thought her pencil-thin eyebrows were the epitome of “cool”…

today, i still love wearing boots: thigh-high, knee-high, booties, love ‘em all. and i’ve since realized that while the thin eyebrow look was definitely NOT a flattering look for me, what i loved about her brows back then is that they were strong and dark… thus, i have since embraced my own thick brows.

alright, sorry for the slight digression…

…below are a few of the females in film & music that i looked up to while growing up:

ps// this is the MOST i’ve written in a post! lol… sorry, i’m so lazy… and once i start writing, i won’t know when to stop… X___x
