The Kids Are All Right (And They Look It Too!)

For these kids, mom and pop may be rock royalty, but in their individual ways, they’re living up to and beyond those last names… and looking pretty darn good whilst doing it! Here’s the latest crop of rock star spawn that’s already gracing a runway and a fashion spread near you.

Frances Bean Cobain

In the media storm surrounding her father’s suicide and legacy, and her mother’s storied meltdowns, Frances Bean Cobain has remained a largely silent party, flying below the radar even while the world’s practically dying to meet the heir apparent to grunge. Well, wait no more, because Kurt and Courtney’s girl is all grown up and ready to face the world as a confident, self-possessed and beautiful 20-year-old. Lately, photographers Hedi Slimane and Rocky Schenck have already framed those eyes and those tattoos in gorgeously stylised shots, and it won’t be a stretch to imagine fashion houses leaning over with interest. But while Frances has lent her image to these private photo sessions, she hardly seems game to play the It Girl or anything as conventional as that – and especially not when she comes from such alternative stock.

Georgia May Jagger

We’ve already seen a long line of Jaggers come our way (from Jade to Elizabeth), but you won’t be looking away any time soon with Georgia May Jagger coming down the runway. The youngest spawn of Mick and Jerry Hall, Georgia can already be found prettifying fashion editorials in W, Dazed & Confused and Vogue, fronting ad campaigns for brands like H&M, and acting as the face (and lips – thanks daddy!) of Rimmel London. And better yet, she’s only all of 18, which means however much of a veteran she looks, she’s only just begun.

Daisy Lowe

In a soap opera worthy of the Tyler family, Pearl Lowe’s eldest daughter only got wind of her paternity when she was 14, when a DNA test revealed Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale to be her biological father (her step-dad is Danny Goffey of Supergrass). And true to her rock lineage, Daisy Lowe is an edgy picture of bohemian cool, her grungy chic having found its way onto the catwalks of Chanel and Vivienne Westwood, been captured by the lens of Steven Klein and earned her blogger status on Elle UK and vogue.co.uk. Besides modelling work, Daisy’s also been carving a niche as a DJ, whilst dabbling in music, because our girl’s a sensible one that’s declared, “If I’m going to be famous, I want to be famous for doing something good – having talent.”

Claude and Louis Simonon

Claude and Louis Simonon, the scions of Paul Simonon of The Clash, shot to fashion consciousness when they fronted Prada’s Spring/Summer ’09 campaign, heralding a shift in menswear and the new faces to front it. Since then, both have been individually active in the field: Louis has snapped up campaigns for Dr. Martens and Diesel, just as Claude has done so for Pepe Jeans and Tween, while the brothers have often been reunited across numerous editorials. Punk apparently does not skip generations, because these two bottle attitude and style in equal measure and best of all, there’s two of ‘em to pick from!

Tali Lennox

One of the latest catwalk sensations, Tali Lennox may have inherited her mum Annie’s (Eurythmics!) cheekbones, but that star presence is all of her own. The 19-year-old has already put all those good genes to work on the catwalk and in print – putting in a fierce showing at last year’s London Fashion Week and gaining notches in Tatler and Vogue. And there’s no way you can miss this cerebral beauty around town, as London’s new It Girl can naturally be found at the hottest boutique openings, pre and post parties – proving you don’t have to be a rock star to party like one.
